    OhioMeansJobs Wayne County is assisting a local employer in their search for a Manufacturing Engineer.

     

    Job Type: Full time

     

    Salary: $60,000 -$70,000 per year

     

    Shift: 1st Shift Monday – Friday

     

    Summary: Provides engineering support for all aspects of assigned product line to ensure functionality, quality, cost, and schedule by performing the following duties.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

     

    • Supports all implementation teams involving robotics integration, end working, turning, milling, spline rolling, and straightening technologies all the way to completion in the timing given.
    • Achieves cost targets and timing on projects.
    • Leads or participates on the team of manufacturing related problem solving all the way to completion in the timing given.
    • Leads the research and development of new tooling and/or processing techniques and implements solutions all the way to completion in the timing given.
    • Participates in the APQP process for new product including Gage R&R, Capability, and documentation.
    • Collects, records, transcribes data, and show results and recommendations in a report for any studies that are performed.
    • Participates and implements the creation of job standards and cost reductions.
    • Leads team or participates on the team of compliance to all levels of the Quality System, Safety procedures and all ISO/IATF related requirements all the way to completion in the timing given.
    • Leads team or participates on the team with quality to develop, build, and implement quality control all the way to completion in the timing given.
    • Participates as an internal auditor.
    • Interfaces with others in the organization and suppliers to jointly determine customer needs and solutions all the way to completion in the timing given.
    • Leads team or participates on the team of a corrective action investigation and helps complete corrective actions all the way to completion in the timing given.
    • Leads team or participates on the team of a future layout and equipment design workshop all the way to completion in the timing given.
    • Leads team or participates on the team of an equipment descriptions and technical specifications for new equipment and/or processes workshop all the way to completion in the timing given.
    • Participates in lean manufacturing techniques and methodology.
    • Maintains reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers.

    Education and/or Experience:

    Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Degree preferred. Minimum four years related experience.                              

     

    Language Skills:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

     

    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

     

    Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Design software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

     

    Other Skills and Abilities:

    • Experience in Automotive or similar type of high-volume CNC production required.
    • Proficient at program G&M code and variable CNC program required.
    • Proficient with AutoCAD. Solidworks or comparable 3D package required.
    • Experience with cut or rolled spline geometry preferred
    • Experience with induction heat treating preferred.
    • Experience in capital equipment selection based on product / process requirements preferred.
