This position requires a person to set up, operate, and/or tend hand-welding machines to produce weldments. They must pay HIGH attention to detail and work under limited supervision. They must efficiently perform hand welding. This job involves collaborating with other team members to help meet department goals and objectives.
Produce quality product in a team environment to meet department goals and objectives; Perform cleaning operations (scale & BB removal, etc.) on parts post-weld; Troubleshooting determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it; Perform other supporting processes, such as basic routine maintenance, clocking in/out of jobs electronically so that parts can be tracked, and helping control costs by operating effectively & efficiently; Have basic working knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance; Conduct quality control checks on your work by inspecting, operating, and testing your finished products/processes to verify functioning, machine capabilities, or conformance to required specifications, and make any needed adjustments or repairs immediately; Operate/tend the welding machine(s), including monitoring of gauges, the appearance of the weld stitches, the sound of the welding machine, & other feedback mechanisms – & tuning them to optimize the welding process for quality & efficiency; Perform hand welding to produce accurate weldments/assemblies; Read and understand schematics, drawings, and other work instructions; Set up jobs by selecting appropriate jigs, fixtures, weld patterns, components, programs, tooling, etc. and using them correctly; Load, position, & weld the raw materials (&/or machined parts) correctly in fixtures; Use hand tools/machines/hoists, etc. to assemble parts for welding.
Job RequirementsMinimum Qualifications: Must be able to pass the Welding test Minimum score of 3 and General Production test Minimum score of 65%; The ability to pass drug and criminal background screenings; Must be flexible with work schedule and overtime hours; Must be able to work 1st shift; Must be able to read and understand welding instruction and procedures; Self-motivated individual which understands the importance of time constraints; Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. regularly and bend, squat, walk or stand for long periods of time Preferred Qualifications: Minimum high school diploma, GED or equivalent school with relevant work experience; 3yrs+ years of welding experience; Score of 4 or 5 on the Weld test and >85% on the General test Post Closes: 11/27/19
