Serve and clean-up after the meals are served. Keep an inventory of supplies (refrigerator, freezer, and pantry), along with cooking and serving supplies (plates, cups bowls, pots, and pans). Essential Duties/Responsibilities: · Plan and prepare healthy, nutritious, well-balanced meals for the Soup Kitchen, Shelter and Corps programs when needed. · Maintain the necessary health standards relevant to Food Preparation and storage (gloves and hairnets).
· Keep an inventory of food, cooking and serving supplies and inform supervisor of any needs relevant to food service.
· Work with volunteers and Community Service Workers in the preparation and clean-up for the Community Meals Program (Soup Kitchen).
· Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, pantry, walk-in cooler, and freezer.
· Maintain count of meals served and any food items given away daily. Give the statistics to the Shelter Manager monthly.
· Receive and record all food donations.
· Responsible for rotating donations that come in on Mondays and Thursdays.
· Responsible for distributing food donations to the community at the Soup Kitchen.
· Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervision of assigned volunteers or Community Service Workers when needed. Minimum Education/Experience: · High school diploma or equivalent · Experience in food and health safety and nutrition
· Experience in cooking for large groups
