Shift: Currently Hiring 1st and 2nd Shifts – Monday through Friday
Pay: $17 to $19 per hour
Role Objective:
The Packaging Operator is responsible for operating packaging machines, involving continuous coordination of production-related activities, meeting SPEED’s quality standards, production standards, operation standards, safety policies, and effective communications to oncoming/outgoing shifts in order to meet production objectives, customer expectations and housekeeping.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operate and assist in day-to-day team operations ensuring effective communication within his/her team leader.
- Meet all SPEED’s quality standards, production standards, safety /housekeeping policies.
- Meet the Company’s Attendance Policy.
- Promote and maintain a collaborative attitude and behavior.
- Able and willing to follow instructions.
Essential Functions:
- Proper start up and shutdown of packaging lines.
- Proper set up of packaging lines to assure quality line. Including but not limited to, proper wheel to diameter line, no line scratching, correct amount in package, correct packages used (color, style), correct feed wheel speed, PLC adjustments, quality standards, use of guards, monitor entire packaging line to assure all equipment is working properly.
- Ensure that line being produced is quality line and that line matches description on order. This includes proper size, shape, color, good surface appearance, correct amount, frequent quality checks on all lines being produced.
- Ensure all materials are correct for line required.
Job Requirements
Physical demands/requirements:
- Able to safely lift upwards of 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Able to stand for long periods of time, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail occasional bending and stooping.
- Pace determined by speed of the equipment.
- Use hand to handle, control, or feel object, tools, or controls.
Work Environment/Conditions:
- Position requires possible working on weekends, possible overtime.
- Wear safety attire or protective gear daily.
- Working indoors, sometimes temperature gets hot in the summertime although following OSHA regulations.
- Often exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
