The Wayne County Emergency Management Agency, under the direction of the Wayne County Commissioners, is looking for the right person to fill their full-time EM Specialist position. Job Requirements

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: • Lead and facilitate the development and maintenance of the Wayne County Emergency Operations Plan, Annexes, Hazard Mitigation Plan, MOU’s, Public Health focused plans, Emergency Operations Center (EOC) standard operating procedures, LEPC Plans, and standard operating procedures and policies. • Direct and facilitate the development and conduct of annual EMA and LEPC exercises, which includes the development of drills, tabletops, functional, and full-scale exercises. • Upon request, respond to emergency and/or crisis situations to open and operate the Emergency Operations Center, coordinate damage assessment teams and logistic support. • Serve as the primary EMA and LEPC social media manager and public information officer. Prepare social media education, media releases/briefings, and assist in the development of emergency preparedness public awareness campaigns. Prepare factsheets, flyers, posters, social media posts, and media releases. Public speaking expected. • Work with all necessary stakeholders including fire, law enforcement, EMS, health, elected officials, contractors, • NGOS, underserved communities, and state/federal employees in the development of the Wayne County whole community all-hazards emergency management program. Serve as a liaison to health and medical facilities, K-12, higher education, and other stakeholders in the development of emergency preparedness exercises and plans. • Serve as the LEPC Secretary, maintaining calendar, database, agenda items, actions, resolutions, and permanent records. • Demonstrate regular, predictable, and punctual attendance. • Preference will be given to candidates with an Emergency Management degree or related field and/or two years of experience working with public safety personnel.
