Position: Director of Nursing                                                          Department: Nursing

 

Hours: 40 hours                                                                             Days: five days a week/ flexible time

 

The Wayne County Care Center is currently accepting applications for the position of full time Director of Nursing for the County’s 50 bed skilled/ intermediate nursing facility.

 

Responsibilities of the D.O.N.:

  • Planning, organizing and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Department during the shift
  • Keep the facility staff in compliance with Federal, State and local regulations that govern the facility
  • Ensure patient care is handled appropriately, including documentation, assessments and procedures, in a timely manner
  • Ensure care plans and Doctor’s order are being followed
  • Communicate with staff, and other departments, to ensure residents are provided with the best experience possible
  • Ensure that staff are mentored to provide constant, quality resident care
  • Must handle all supervisory and scheduling issues
  • Must participate in facility inspections as needed and perform administrative duties

 

 

Job Requirements

Requirements of RN supervisor:

  • Valid RN license
  • Minimum 3-year in long term care experience, in a supervisory role
  • Experience in Point Click Care preferred
  • Compassion for and commitment to hospitality, service and excellence in senior care
  • Ability to be a responsible and dependable team member who can take direction well
  • Adaptable and able to work under pressure
