Summary: This position is responsible for a variety of maintenance duties including performing and assisting in the installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairs of machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems by performing the following duties.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance duties; maintains adherence to preventative and predictive maintenance program schedule.
- Inspects and tests machinery, equipment, structures, and materials to identify problems or defects, diagnose malfunctions, and locate damage, defects, or wear
- Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Assists in the installation and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery, equipment and facility needs.
- Assists in the repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Assists in the repairs of the physical structure of establishment.
- Assists in the development, fabrication, assembly, and installation of conveyor systems, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Maintains and repairs conveyor systems, counters, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Reads technical information including manuals, equipment repair manuals, blueprints, and/or schematics to facilitate troubleshooting and repair duties.
- Follows safe work practices without fail.
- Maintains organized and orderly work area

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience: Technical school; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and memos. Ability to speak effectively before small groups of employees, management, or contractors.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to effectively use measuring instruments required to perform maintenance tasks.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Work, Outlook, and Project.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Not required but a plus.

Other Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of mechanical principles and sequence of operation
Experience in comprehending electrical schematics.
Must have strong mechanical aptitude
Must have strong troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Other Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience with basic mechanical and facility maintenance.
- Must have own “general” tools.
- Must be able to work any shift and weekends pending circumstances.
