Seaman Corporation is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Finance team! This position will report to the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager in Wooster, Ohio.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the organization’s financial operations with a strong emphasis on workforce planning, incentive compensation and other general accounting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Workforce Planning & Incentive Compensation
- Maintain workforce planning models to accurately forecast headcount and labor costs.
- Partner with HR and department leaders to ensure staffing plans align with financial targets and budget requirements.
- Manage incentive and commission programs, including calculating accruals, forecasting payouts, and evaluating program performance.
- Collaborate with HR and Sales to refine compensation structures, incentive plans, and commission frameworks.
General Accounting & Payroll Support
- Perform general month‑end close activities, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Support the General Accounting Manager with payroll responsibilities and serve as payroll backup.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance with 3-5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence and to speak effectively with customers.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Oracle software, Outlook, HRM, and MS Office. Advanced Excel skills are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited information exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Payroll or workforce planning experience is preferred.
